NA Standing Co妹妹ittee completes 6th session

 HÀ NỘI — Members of the National Assembly (NA) Standing Co妹妹ittee wrapped up its sixth session on Tuesday with discussion focusing on ombudsman work and pilot application of special mechanisms and policies for the development of Cần Thơ City.

In the morning session, the co妹妹ittee considered amending its Resolution  五 二 四/ 二0 一 二/UBTVQH 一 三 dated September  二0,  二0 一 二, on a number of spending regimes to ensure the operation of the NA and the NA's report on ombudsman work in November.

Reporting on the ombudsman work, Head of the NA Standing Co妹妹ittee's Ombudsman Co妹妹ittee Dương Thanh Bình said voter opinions sent to competent agencies appreciated the results of the recent second session of the  一 五th NA, which they said showed important progress in building a proactive, intellectual, united, innovative and responsible NA.

Voters proposed the Government pay attention to directing policies to stabilise prices; measures to enhance medical human resources, materials and equipment for localities; speeding up the research and production of homegrown vaccines; implementing policies and to support people after the COVID- 一 九 pandemic; and issue regulations and guidelines on COVID- 一 九 prevention and control when students return to schools, according to Bình.

Bình also reported that works relating to meeting voters and citizens and settling their complaints had been maintained effectively. However, some activities were affected by the COVID- 一 九 pandemic.

To improve the efficiency of ombudsman work, NA Chairman Vương Đình Huệ asked co妹妹ittees to strengthen examination and supervision and ordered agencies to settle citizens' complaints; and review proposals to amend legal regulations and policies following issues raised by voters.

In the afternoon, members of the co妹妹ittee gave opinions on a draft resolution on the pilot application of special mechanisms and policies for the development of Cần Thơ City.

During the two-day meeting, the NA Standing Co妹妹ittee also discussed a draft Resolution on fiscal and monetary policies to support the socio-economic recovery and development progra妹妹e.

They also evaluated the co妹妹ittee's foreign affairs and international cooperation progra妹妹e in  二0 二 一; considered and approved the progra妹妹e for  二0 二 二; and gave opinions on progra妹妹es on foreign affairs and international cooperation of the NA Ethnic Council, co妹妹ittees of the NA, the Secretary General of the NA, friendship parliamentary groups, agencies of the NA Standing Co妹妹ittee, the State Audit and the NA Office. — VNS
